The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Review

“Easily tarnished by boring cut scenes, a botched combat system, and plenty of glitches.”

Spider-Man has the potential to make for a fantastic game the villains and the story damn near calls for a great game, a lot like Batman. Sadly The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is not that game and it is a bit upsetting as a huge fan of this hero. I tried so hard to love this game, but if you have to try to love something you probably didn’t like it very much.

Sure swinging around New York City is fun, but the fun is easily tarnished by boring cut scenes, a botched combat system, and plenty of glitches. The game is improved from the fight Amazing Spider-Man game but these improvements are far and few in between.

The most fun you will have in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is moving through the skies with your webs connecting to buildings and going around the city. Not only is it the best part of the game because it is well put together, but also because there really isn’t anything else interesting to do.

The combat is dull and easy winning fights is as easy as mashing buttons until you are the victor. Sure this might be good for a small child who doesn’t want to lose but I still don’t see anybody really getting any enjoyment out of it. The AI of your opponents are no better then the combat.

Missions are short and uninteresting. Boss battles are also short and easy. The story is uninspired and there is really nothing to keep you interested. On the flip side the graphics are decent, character costumes are awesome, and swinging though the city is fun, but that doesn’t really make this game any more playable then the last one.

Verdict = Bad
